Army Worms
Army worms have wiped out our entire 10 acres worth of millet in our field and another acre worth in the greentree. Is there a pesticide I can spray before or after discing that could help fight the bastids? Thanks

Keep them on your side of the road. My millet just got up and I want it to keep going.

Good luck, Rob. They have demolished our field. Went from beautiful to not worth a shat in a matter of days.

Re: Army Worms
Scratch that, just re-read it and saw where your looking for something with residual control... I don't know but will check into it.
Re: Army Worms
Probably gonna have to be a contact pesticide like a pyrethroid. Hurricanes usually bring in a pile of moths from the south and then they lay eggs.

I'm going to check this afternoon or tomorrow. I just got off the phone with a guy that lost almost 15 acres in 5 days.

Don't worry. When are you going to spray?
If you are in town this weekend and see the gate open come on in. I will be working on deer stands and trying to figure out how to tell a neighbor in a non-verbal fashion that I do not appreciate him cutting a fence and trimming limbs so he can see down one of our fire lanes.

Seen those worms eat cotton faster than biggie vs a pizza roll. They start in low drainage areas in cotton fields.

Re: Army Worms
If you can access Ag chemicals Ammo, Karate Z, Baythroid, Mustang Max. Those are a few that we use. Those are pretty cheap per acre. The jug might run you 400-500 though. You'll only need a few ounces though. So go find a farmer that might have a piece of jug leftover. Your gonna have to spray and spray and maybe spray some more. They don't have a lot for long term residual like your talking about. We have some residuals but they are probably a little heavy duty for a food plot. You just cant put a lush crop out now with all the crops and natural vegetation winding down. It's a recipe for your situation. I'm probably gonna hit my duckplots for worms and weeds this weekend.Wingman wrote:Probably gonna have to be a contact pesticide like a pyrethroid.
