Has anyone else had problems with the door lock actuators? I had 2 go out a month apart. And to fix them....$1200.00. I've read all over the Internet about tundra door lock problems and the service manager at herrin gear told me they have only replaced 3 since he's been there. Just curious if im the only one having the problem. Just seems funny 2 went out like that.

Thats not typical. Contact Toyota customer service and see if they will cover part or all of it, especially for a new vehicle. Im surprised the service manager didnt get the work comp'ed. Has it been in any accidents?

Never wrecked, I contacted Toyota just for the hell of it and to my shocking surprise(sarcasm) haven't heard back from them. The service manager at HG was as unhelpful as they come.

If you guys know what the part is called, check out
www.rockauto.com its an awesome sight to buy truck parts and then pay someone to put it on or do it yourself. Ive bought 2 different parts for my 2004 Z71 off there and saved over $500

knock on wood, i have never had the problem. have put millions of miles on a 92 pickup, 88 pickup, 94 4runner,97 4runner, and an 06 tundra. I did have some slight problems with the door lock on a 1975 fj40 at some point around 2005, but chalked that up to 30 yrs of hard use.

I haven't had the door lock problem. I don't usually buy warranties on vehicles or anything else for that matter but when I bought my 08 Tundra they offered me a 7 yr/100k warranty for around $1200. Covers anything that may happen excluding maintenance items. So far it has paid for itself and then some. Just a heads up to anybody that may be buying - it's been a good deal for me.

I have the same problem but mine is a 2007 GMC Sierra. Both front and rear doors on the driver's side have to be manually locked/unlocked now.

Buy the parts and fix it yourself! Door panels are so simple to remove.

My driver door lock on my 2010 Tundra works half the time, doesn't the other. Been too scared to price the replacement.

Thought about that, but the part is about $180 each and from what I have read, removing the door panel on these trucks is a big pain.
