Duff lived in Ruleville near where he grew up...on his granddaddy's old farm. if I remember right. Man, talk about feeling old! The Tangents were one of the great showbands of the late 60's. Played many times at the old armory in Yazoo City. Drink a quart of Schlitz and go boogaloo, baby! "Glory days, they'll pass you by in the blink of a young girl's eye." They pass in the blink of an eye, indeed! Duff's playing with a hell of a band, now!

Jerry was a very talented artist as well as a musician. He painted the murals in downtown Ruleville last year. I remember in junior high at Ruleville, Duff and his band were named the Rooks. I thought it was some of the best rock and roll I ever heard.
God Bless Duff and his family.

Hate to hear this about Duff, sang at my grandfather's funeral in June '11. He sang "Peace in the Valley" and it was one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, I'll never forget it. RIP Duff

The Tangents in the Gin in Oxford circa 1983...I don't think there were ever better nights.
