Got home at 2:25 last night from the game.... even after a goodnights rest I'm still not sure that my heart was beating right. Wow is all I can say. They had 3 good quarters of football but the third quarter was nearly too much to handle.

I know I wanted to throw anything close by when UT ran the reverse. Everytime UT should have lost 10 yards, not pick up 30. Banks FF in 4th was thankfully and sadly States wake up call and kick in the butt they needed to get the ball in the endzone. So. Thank you Banks

They had me worried on the last drive with 5 min left in the game. Those first downs were huge because Tn could have gotten great field position with us punting into the wind and only down by 3. Could have easily gotten into field goal range to send the game into over time.

I would like to quote that one more time for the record. No matter how long said quote holds true. Good day for Mississippi. Hell we may even get an espn classic replay during the summer months for the Egg Bowl. Good Saturday for the residents of Mississippi. If anyone deserves some good news it's the fans of both teams in this state. The atmosphere leading up to the Egg Bowl should be electric. In any case, I will certainly be hitting the record button on the VHS player to relive the moments.

Or it could all come crashing down instantaneously.

But it crossed my mind today -and hit me so hard that I had to sit down and grab a seat and a water to cool off and gather myself- that we are no longer playing ball to be bowl elligible.

Bulldog football fans (and even rebel fans as much as I hate to admit it) FINALLY have something to hold their heads up high about..its only been 13 years since we have seen this kind of ranking!!! Kind of exciting..I hope we can keep up the momentum and keep ole Mullen around for a while. Unlike the last couple years, I have been impressed with our discipline with regards to penalties and not turning the ball over (hope I didnt just jinx us with that one). That is all due to coaching, plain and simple. Any of you guys that are still in Starkville and see Dan Mullen around town..please let him know how much you appreciate what he is doing for our university. I know he probably hears plenty of it, but you know the man could never get tired of hearing things like that.

But our schedule is about to get REAL!!! My prediction right now is that we will be like Arkansas was last year..only difference is there are 1 or 2 teams in the SEC East that are legitimate this year.

But who knows..we actually have a chance (albeit a slim one) to run the table..but we could also lose the rest of our games..will be a fun rest of the year but sure feels nice to know we are already bowl eligible :P

I almost let Dan Mullen know how much I appreciate him when he disregarded pedestrian crossing signals at the Stone Blvd. traffic light in front of Thompson when we had those big rains a couple of weeks ago. All I could think of afterwards was Libya and ambassadors. ESPN update: double tragedy in Starkville, MS today...

Metallica and jogging routines do not make one immune to the front bumper of Toyota Tacomas. Also, 4-0 does not make one immune to the fury of an angry driver whos brakes are locked up.

6-0 baby.

Early rumors are that Mack Brown is out and Texas is going all in on Mullen. Like I said that is just the rumors. Mullen is constantly going to be linked to coaching jobs as long as he is in starkville.

Then I won't stop next time.

In all reality I think this will be Dan Mullens' last hard run at it in Starkville.

If he goes 10-2 like I think they can(could also be better or worse), then his name is definetly going to be linked to any big jobs. He has already turned down chances at Florida and Penn State so I am not sure what it will take to get him away from Starkville.

6-0 and a great start for the Bullies. However, let's look at the schedule for these first 6....hard to fathom they wouldn't be 6-0 at this point. Probably 7-0 with a bit of a scare for Saturday...but on to 7-0. Then......

Enjoy the moment fellas...will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
