Where do you recieve your joy from?

God gave me a revalation today. While i was walking and praying about my marriage and it's many failures..God impressed on me that I get my joy, love, and patience from him. Not my wife. All this time i've been looking for her to be sorry and make me happy and whole again. I was looking in the wrong place. So from today forth..I will boast in my weekness and praise his name for the joy that is in my heart..

Where are you looking for joy and happiness in your life?

Something to Ponder....

Great question, with a difficult answer.. I know our joy should come from the grace given to us by Christ, but it is sometime hard for me to accept that joy when I know how many times I let him down.. Your post has reminded me that we can never give up on trying..

Good stuff! :) Its our human nature to look to someone or something to make us happy or to make us feel good again. Hunting stuff, clothes, food, truck, fiance, wife, etc... When finding these things it does make us feel good again or satisfied but it doesn't last too long and you start looking for that feel good again. The fact is that the love of GOD and being at peace with him will always give you that loving feeling because he never stops loving you. Upon realization is when things start to calm down and everything seems at ease.

Thanks for sharing

GOD Bless

I think joy and happiness are two completely different things. Our joy comes from God. Our happiness is usually based on our circumstances. Happiness tends to fluctuate but our joy, as Christians, should be constant...knowing that God is in control and we are His. James 1 says to count it all joy when we go thru trials/temptations. I'm not saying that is me all the time but I'm trying to learn! :).
