Several years ago, I think about 2....we began our dachshund on Iverheart Plus. He is about 9 years old and was heartworm positive. He's been on the iverheart plus every month since and he had his checkup today. He is heartworm free!!!!! YEA!!!!!
Moral of this story is, heartworm treatment is expensive and bad on the dog. Keep this in mind before doing treatment. I have had several that were heartworm positive and lived to 11 and 12 years old. Neither one of them passed due to heartworm complications.
