Where do you get this stuff? I want to ground my own deer, but need fat to add.

I buy packages of bacon "ends" at walmart. Basically just the fat end part off a slab of bacon. They come in chunks and have a little meat still attached. It is in the bacon section and comes in about a 3 pound package. It is awesome mixed with deer.

I've heard that's what some folks use. How much does it cost?

It will cost you seven bucks per ten pounds of burger. Mix ten pounds of deer with three ponds of bacon ends its delicious. I have made at least 800 pounds this year and everyone loves it.

Talk sweet to the Butcher lady in the Kroger on Goodman in Southaven and she'll give you all the fat trimmings you want. Just tell them what you want it for and ask for the trimmings.

Went by there last night and got 15 lbs. She didn't give it away, but I got it for 69 cents a lb.
