Which one are we talking about? There are a few in the picture. Also, I don't think it's ok to shoot em at the zoo.

it is a trick questions. they dont have woodies in europe

you are both right. they are both of the genus AIX. i've been seeing her since late summer but I have yet to see a male anywhere around. i also got a couple of shots of some ruddy shelducks pretty birds, and it seems they are fairly rare in this area.
