what I've read...mom is the factor...if she gets on board he'll sign with Ole Miss. Kid and dad on Ole Miss bandwagon and he's got an in-home with Freeze remaining...and he's not talking to any media since leaving Oxford this weekend, regardless of what they report...

I don't know shat, that's what I read

well, better pony up 51

and by the way Joe, why do you always pipe up about Ole Miss paying folks. They call you down on the coast hotline every time that happens? Amazes me that an Alabama fan that went to school at MSU and lives on the coast in MS has such connections year after year

Have not heard why Mix decommitted. Cam you know I have to mess with you. I really could care less if they go to Ole Miss, MSU, or Southern. None of them were going to Bama so I really don't care. But if you honestly think Ole Miss pulls all of this off with out a little something extra then you are living in a dream land. I am not saying they are the only ones but they are definetly doing it. To be the best you have to cheat with the best. How did Trent Richardson afford an Esclade on 24" rims, How did Jermaine Whitehead and CJ Johnson get brand new vehicles during their recruitment.

momma and cj are supposed to be in oxford friday it seems... we shall see... if momma gets on board, he's oxford bound... think that would give us top 3 de in the same class??? unheard of... and as far as chris jones goes, i'll pitch in a few more bucks

as for deon mix, i think he's going to UCLA... i don't understand why in the hell we haven't recruited this kid.

Jones was kept under the radar by MSU coaches, his high school football coach, and high school principal (each of whom are MSU supporters). When Jones attended some combines and camps this summer, the gig was up. He jumped from a 2 star to 5 star almost overnight. Outside interest in him exploded. Despite MSU's wishes, it was inevitable that the young man would want to at least visit and check out other schools interested in him before making his ultimate decision. This natural process was delayed with Jones due to the referenced efforts by MSU to keep him under wraps. MSU has no one to blame but themselves. Jones may still indeed wind up at MSU. But his eyes are open to other schools now in this process. The kid is simply having fun. And his parents are now aware of what happened with their son's delayed recruiting.

If you have proof of cheating, call the NCAA or MSU's compliance office. Otherwise, keep this chicken caca off our board. It kills brain cells.

HA! BS! This statement coming from the same fan base that chased Jackie like they were on a witch hunt.....spread the rumors boys! Just cause Freeze getting some playas they want everyone to get all hush on recruiting technique...hahahahahahahaha! They want to hear the rankings and praise Freeze but ignore the dark sides of recruiting....the side we all know exist. Reb fans loved to talk up the obvious before, no need to stop now!          This post is so funny! I love it. And yall are kicking our butt in recruiting but I am still laughing. "OH NO!.....we are getting good recruits....hope MSU people do not start talking about possible violations...NCAA may come snooping.....OH NO!"

Suposedly MSUs compliance director has already been contacted and given "proof", not sure how someone would have proof. Also suposedly there is an Ole Miss booster that is not happy with Freeze and is willing to spill the beans. As stated this is all suposedly and I don't know how a State person would have evidence of Chris Jones dad getting money.

Since when is it a bad thing for a college coach to do a good job of scouting and finding talent. Jones did not jump to a 5 star overnight during the summer. His stock steadily rose for the last 6 months and more coaches took notice when he started blowing it up in the post season all star games. The Ole Miss coaches have had plenty of time to go watch him in person or get some game film. He was right under their nose the entire time and they were busy recruting a DE in Georgia, don't blame them there. You can't say the Ole Miss coaches are bad recruiters, just look at their class this year, but they made a mistake by not scouting him for the last year.

The Ole Miss fans that complain about his coaches steering him to State are the same fans that love the South Panola coach for trying to steer players to Ole Miss. The same coach that got caught recruiting for Ole Miss at a high school all star game. Can't have it both ways. Po Monk, you keep asking for proof that Ole Miss cheats and telling folks to get that caca off the board. You made some accusations against Jones' coach and principal. Have you provided proof of that to the NCAA and the Ole Miss compliance office?

I'd like to know why anybody at Ole Miss that cares if they succeed (someone like a booster) would be unhappy with Freeze???...I mean considering the past 7-8 years of football, recruiting, etc...that sounds to me like a big ole stretch from somebody trying to make sense of the bullcaca claims they are spreading...just my take on it, doesn't make sense...now a booster paying recruits, sure it's possible...it happens in a lot of places; a lot of the times and sometimes is completely not related to the coaching staff, sometimes it is...however all the people that know and are telling all this juicy info to a manager at Academy in Gulfport, or an insurance agent in the Delta...they don't know $#!+ they are just talking and you are just listening, believe that part for sure.

Bigoak, there is nothing illegal about what the MSU coaches and supporters were doing with the Jones recruitment, and I did not say or suggest that there was. So, I have no reason to report anything. I was just letting you know what I heard about this in the community where I live (in Chickasaw County, about a 15 minute drive from Houston high school).

It is just a different style recruiting tactic ---but, one that I don't think will work anymore in this day and age of the combines, camps, all-star games and social media. Word about a good player is eventually going to get out. It is no secret that MSU tries to insist that its commits not take any more visits, and they get upset when they do. As I said, that is one style of recruiting, and if it works for your school, then good for you. But, there are more open approaches that I think work better with kids today --- promote/sell your school, without tearing down others --- low pressure on the kids ---- encourage the recuits to visit other schools before committing --- don't remove key targets who are already committed simply because they are visiting other schools ---get the parents involved before accepting their commitment (if possible).

And I never said there is anything wrong with early evaluations and identification of recruiting targets. Every school tries to do this. But, would you rather have a kid taking all their visits to other schools late in the recruiting process (after they have committed), or early in the recruiting process (before they have committed)? Personally, I would prefer the latter.

Those of you who enjoy the "black helicopter" paranoia of recruiting/college football, as well as delusions of grandeur, can surely get that stuff on some other boards where such folks reside and thrive. Is it necessary to have it here destroying healthy brain cells?

And in response to STAG, I am not even going to attempt to respond to or defend against what some other folks (who you claim are Rebel fans) said at one time or another about this or that. I don't purport to represent all of the Rebelnation. But, I will be happy to discuss anything that I have penned here at one time or another.

Over the years, I have seen a LOT of discussion here, by posters allegedly with inside info, about this school allegedly cheating, and this school allegedly cheating, and so on and so forth. And how many times has any of these type topics being discussed by the "insiders" ever been proven to be true as reported here? And even if true, resulted in any type of serious NCAA sanctions, etc.? I can't recall any such instances. So, IMO, the black helicopter crowd is batting 0.00.

The Redmond issue at MSU surfaced early in the fall, and there was apparently something to it due to the actions taken by MSU in response. At that time, I cautioned restraint here in discussing it, because none of us had all the facts, and it did not appear to be anything that would result in serious sanctions against MSU, even if everything reported elsewhere turned out to be true. And to the credit of this board, there has not been any hysteria here about this issue.

But I can't stop any of you from posting a bunch of nonsense and making a fool of yourselves ---- for the most part, you have that constitutional right guaranteed by the first amendment, limited only by Micah's rules, to go full retard. So, knock yourselves out. Only know this. I am laughing at you when you do. The signal you are sending is a big sign that says "LOSER".
