Has anyone used Rodeo Aquatic Herbicide to clean up any of their duck holes? Just wondering how effective it is, trying to clean up some areas that is too wet to get a tractor in.

Same ingredient as in Roundup. The larger or older the weed, the harder to kill, especially if it is flowering. Consider using a higher rate for the larger weed species you are trying to kill. May need second application, since glyphosate has no residual control. Coverage is key, higher volume of water for your output is typically better and use of an adjuvant helps.

Just was wondering...if Rodeo and Roundup use the same ingredients then how come Rodeo is safe to use in ponds/lakes, yet Roundup isn't? I have some Roundup that I would use, but would hate to kill any fish.

the roundup folks just haven't put up the $$$$ to have it labled for aquatic use. I suppose they have so much of the ag market that they don't want / need to fool with the $$ and hassle of getting it labled for aquatic use.?

I'll have to agree with Soybean Man, a second application after the first kill should do the job. I have mixed mine "Hot" on the tough spots.

Rodeo (ai glyphosphate) will NOT kill everything, in aquatic or terrestrial systems, and several aquatic plants that it will not kill come immediately to mind in your describing standing water. There may be much cheaper alternatives to Rodeo, which is quite expensive.

One of the generic herbs you can use is aguamaster its a 41% glyphosate. In most cases 2-4d is used with glyphosates. Also they have a new product out now called habitat that should have a broader spectrum of controll.
