So where is a good place to get this ring appraised for insurance purposes in the Brandon or Madison area?

Pretty much any jeweler. Place you bought it from should be able. If not, Juniker is a top notch jeweler.

My jeweler(Orman's which is no longer in business) appraised my wife's when i purchased it, but i took it to a buddies dad who owns Jackson Jewelers after just to ensure i was not being lied to and everything was legit.deltadukman wrote:Pretty much any jeweler. Giver her a little fru fru anyway! Even if all you do is rent a tux to go to the jp. Some part of all of them wants at least a little bit of that type thing. Better to do it unnecessarily now than to wish you had down the road.
And, congratulations! Marriage is what you make of it. It's hard work all the time, but well worth the effort. The Bible says God made woman for man because He knew we would need each other, and when you both realize that you do indeed need each other, and work at it together it's a beautiful thing!

My condolences.
