Ole Miss and State have me very confused. On paper, both teams should be a lot better than they are currently. I still think one or both teams will make a push at Omaha, but they need to turn it around. If they are a low seed or a no seed in the SEC Tourney, it is gonna be hard to do anything in the post season because there may be no post season for them.

Exactly right Delta....and I do not hear the urgency out of the MSU players and coaching staff that I think one should be feeling. They keep referring to last years slow start and good second half of SEC play. This is not last year and there is no Stratton on the mound. MSU has out hit their opponent in most of MSU's losses. We have not pitched it well in critical times. We have stranded a lot of runners. I do agree with Cohen when he says we are "this close" from winning a lot of these games. But until we actually start winning some of these close games, it does not really matter now does it.

If MSU wins the series this weekend, they can still be OK. However, if they loose the season is pretty well over. I agree it is very frustrating to hear that MSU is "this close". If MSU is going to live up to expectations they must win some 1 run games and beat top 15 teams. I think both the football team and baseball team can learn a lesson from this year. Do not stack your early season schedule with "Little Sisters of the Poor University" and play all of your early games at home.

The way I see it.......State should have won 2 of 3 from LSU, Kentucky, and Arkansas.........for various resons, they "gave" a game away in each of those series. I know it's easy to say that "good" teams don't do that.....all three of those teams are top 10 teams.....we win those 3 games and evereyone is talking Omaha......it's a difference of one walk, one hit, one error......
I still believe this State team has the ability to "win it all".......Ole Miss hasn't shown me that, plus they have the "Bianco Factor" to deal with.
