Time for a new set of tires, I currently have BFG All-Terrains. I like the tire a lot but I'm not crazy about paying $1,000 plus for a new set.

What's out there similar to the BFG AT that wont break the bank?

Toyo AT-II, Nitto Terra Grappler, General Grabber AT2 are REAL similar to BFG's.

Nitto Terra Grappler, best bang for your buck.

I'm looking for some new tires for my truck also. The ones I'm looking at buying are Cooper Discover AT'3s. Saw some on a truck at work and they are rated really high by Consumer Reports. I got quoted $150 per tire at one place but haven't had a time to give a couple of other tire places a chance. Anybody else have these tires?

Who quoted you that price? What size you looking at? That sounds like a good deal.

Got those put on my 05 z71 and they were great. Cost me 750 mounted balanced and an alignment at upton in Madison.

I am due for new tires too. I have BFG TA's now with about 70K miles on them so it's hard for me not to go back with them.

Sounds like you got a fair shake but Upton's is a rip off IMO.

I just put the AT3's on my tundra. ONly have about 2000 miles on them so far but they ride pretty good. I also bought them from Upton but only because they are close to my office for me to have them rotated and balanced when needed.

Check online too. I'm all about supporting local business but you an at least get them to price match. Www.discounttiredirect.com is where I got my last set of Nittos. Oh and Nitto / Toyo are made by the same company. Same compound and everything, so both brands are great tires.
