Not sure which has cost Te'o more money....The "Girlfriend" or getting dominated in the BCS Championship game.

Pretty sure Ole Miss was the only sec school without anyone drafted.

i'm positive... but that's not really a surprise. I personally wasn't banking on anyone. just goes to show, hugh knew exactly what he was talking about when he said temper expectations that there is no freaking legit SEC talent on this team.

on another note 5 or 6 guys signed contracts over the weekend

Yep. No Rebels taken in draft. Only a few free agent signees. One --- Holloway --- didn't even play football at Ole Miss --- was on basketball team.

This just validates the good job Freeze did in his first season with Rebs. I'm looking forward to seeing how well he can do with more talent. We are on the road to finding out.

Of course, this shutout in the draft really only means that we lacked talent in the upperclassmen. There are some young players on the roster who will be drafted and play in the NFL in the future --- eg Moncrief, Johnson, Gross, Ward, Golson, Sawyer, Scott, etc etc. This is why the predictions last season by some here that the Rebels would lose to the likes of Tulane, UTEP, etc. we're so absurd --- more wishful thinking than actual thinking.

Thats exactly what I was thinking watching the draft this weekend. All those people who said Ole Miss would lose to Tulane and UTEp last year.

Ole Miss has plenty of players that will be drafted in the future. I think this shows how bad of a job Nutt did at actually getting talent on campus and keeping them there. Never bad thing for the future when you best talent are underclassmen.

Yeah right. Smartarse.

I didn't waste time watching the draft. That would be the equivalent of watching grass grow. Instead, I was enjoying the DoubleDecker Festival in Oxford, spending time with family and friends, some Rebel baseball, raw oysters at Snack Bar, cold libations, and lots of eye candy. Life was good.

BTW: In case you haven't noticed, this board is full of Rebel fans, MSU fans, and fans of schools other than Alabama. It is, after all, a Mississippi based website. It ain't all about you and the Tide. And thank goodness for that little joy in life.

If there were ever a testiment to how good of a coaching job Freeze did last year, the fact that not one player was drafted off of the team that finished with a winning record should be it. I really think that Freeze is going to have great success at Ole Miss. Unfortunately, as long as Nick Saban is at Bama and with the rise of aTm, I have my doubts that he ever wins the SECw, but I think he will have Ole Miss is a bowl game every year, and probably a good bowl game at that most years.

BTW, Moncrief will be a 1st rounder next year I believe. He was Julio Jones-like for the second half of the season.

There, fixed it for me, because I'm an Albanian, thug-lovin', NFL draft watchin', tree poisoning, panty wearing (and ugly panties based upon his pics of his panties), insecure, Tide loser like Webbmaster who loves to troll on DuckSouth.
