In Austin

Saw many Rebel and Bama fans on the trip to Shreveport Thursday night, and during the day today on the second leg of the journey. Of course, tomorrow Ole Miss is playing Texas in Austin, and Bama is playing TAM in College Station. It's an SEC MS/AL invasion of Texas.
Lots of Rebel fans in Austin tonight. The weather is great --- nice, cool breeze blowing --- and downtown Austin is alive with cool music and a party atmosphere. My crew enjoyed an excellent meal at Garrigo's (modern Tex Mex) and a really good soul band at Threadgill's ---- band named Mingo Fishtrap --- very funky ---- just one block from our hotel.
It's been a long, fun day. Looking forward to an even better day tomorrow. The Rebels are going to have a strong fan presence at the game tomorrow night --- guesstimate 12,000 +. IF the Rebs can pull out a W, the party tomorrow night in Austin will be epic. I'm ready. All the Rebel fans are ready. I just hope the team is ready. If they have a pulse, they should be.
My cigars are cut and ready.

Po..you might want to hit Loui Mueller BBQ in Taylor, Tx . 20 miles NE of you for lunch. #1 BBQ joint in TX and arguably the US.

Thanks for the tip, but if it ain't walking distance from my hotel, I won't be able to go. 20 miles is a tad bit beyond my walking ...... uh stumbling range.
Top of the morning to all. It's Jim Beam Devil's Cut straight up on the rocks. I always thought there was a devil in that whiskey bottle. And I'll be damned its true.
Gotta find a good sports bar in downtown area to watch the BAMA -- TAM game.
BTW: the hype here in Texas for the TAM v Bama game is even worse than what is being shown on tv. Hope this game lives up to the hype.

Scenery is outstanding.
Libations are flowing.
Lots of Texas fans are Tide fans today.
Hanging out at Docs sports bar with my family, son, and several of his friends. We are in pre-game mode. Getting our game faces on.
Good game so far between Tide and Aggies.
Champ, I've had about two for you my friend.

And the party still rages on this morning, while basking in the glow of sweet victory.
Third largest crowd in Texas stadium history last night --- over 101,000 announced crowd. And the 15k -- to 20k Rebel fans were the loudest.
Hotty Toddy fellow Rebs.

That almost makes me want to switch aliegence and be a Rebel. Congrats, y'all are heading in the right direction and our program is spiraling into an abyss.

Hang in there my friend. Life as a UM or MSU fan is full of ups and downs that build character. It wasn't that long ago that the Rebel program was in turmoil and I was feeling lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut. And even though it appears that the Rebel program is headed in the right direction, I will never again take that for granted, but enjoy every good moment like it may be the last.
