Re: Tractor wheel?
All the old rims have either been put to use as fire pits or hauled off for scrap.
Try Bennett Tractor in Aubrey, AR. They will sell you one for half of what a new one costs.

Try the farm operation at the corner of Virillia Rd. and Hwy 22 in Canton. Wilson Farms I think. They are some of Bigwater's kin. They gave us a rim that we use as a fire pit a couple of years ago.

I went to a place that sells galvanized culverts and they sold me the end off of a short piece they had for $30. It was 42 inch diameter I believe and 16 inches tall. Dug a hole and made it flush with ground and added bricks around it. Works great

Re: Tractor wheel?
Not meaning to hijack your thread, but our camp was looking for a rim for the same purpose. The other day, while blood trailing a deer, I came across a tractor tire and rim on an old logging road. The tire was gashed pretty good. Question is do I:
A: just lite it up and let the rubber burn off?
B: take it somewhere and let them take the tire off?
C: try to take tire off myself? If so, how would I even begin?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Tractor wheel?
Tire guys use a long metal tire bar. They can pop that tire off in a few minutes. Or you can burn it, but you are definetly going to want to not be close by there when you do itHunkerdown II wrote:Not meaning to hijack your thread, but our camp was looking for a rim for the same purpose. FYI the porcelain coated tub out of an old washing machine make a great fire pit also. Just weld some feet onto it.
