Does anyone use a Kolpin Gun Boot on your ATV to haul your rifle? Thinking about getting one and looking for reviews?

I do but mine is a few years old. I love it. I haul my shotgun in it too.

I have one mounted on my ranger. They perform as they should but I do get slightly concerned that my scope will get knocked off zero due to the lack of padding. I just have the slightly padded "sock" in mine.

get the version with the flip up opening, much easier to use than having to pull the pin and slide the end off

My biggest concern is the scope getting knocked off zero.

I have an older one and my scoped rifle will not fit in it. Not some sniper scope either, just a plain Abolt with a prostaff scope. Works good for shotgun, but now I mainly use a floating gun case for my shotgun out to the blind, and keep my rifle on the sling.

If you have good glass it won't be a problem. I've never had a problem with this.

I have one on my Rancher and like it. I have seen a rifle or two that will not slide all the way to the bottom as the scope hits. I don't carry those rifles in I just because I don't like the idea of the scope holding the rifle weight and getting hit whenever I hit a bump. I only have one or two like that and they are carbines so I would king of expect it. I works great with everything else. I like it much better than brackets. As has already been said, get the one with the hinged back. Also get the one with the gun case that fits inside. It gives more protection and it's much easier to just take that zippered case in and out of the hard plastic shell.
