Turkey

Did anyone ever cook a turkey on a ceramic grill for Thanksgiving. Got one in the freezer and was gonna cook it for Christmas.

I've done several on the BGE, tried the brining, injection, combination etc. I like to inject them with creole butter and liberally apply cajun seasoning on the outside. I also use a combination of pecan chunks with a couple of hickory chunks mixed in. I cook a whole turkey at 325 until the breast temp is between 170-175. Most sites say 165, but I don't think it's done enough for me.

That's the type of info I'm looking for. How long does the cooking take and also do you use a drip pain or use a water pan for indirect heat? Also, Do you cook in a pan or right on the grate? I've cooked a lot of things, but turkey for 10 people at Christmas ain't one of 'em. I'd hate to ruin their Christmas meal. :lol:

i use the creol butter my self an every one loves it. i like the plate setter to keep the fire indirect an try to keep my temp at 275-300 until its done to the right temp an the liquids are clear, i also did on the last one at thanks giving when it was done on the grill i wrapped it up n foil an set it on the counter to rest an it was super moist an prob the best one yet

I know it's too late now but I use the Mad Max recipe. Just google Mad Max Turkey recipe. It doesn't call to brine the bird, but I do anyway. This Thanksgiving was the second year that I've done it and it came out perfect!!!
