i'm no duck call tuner, someone got these calls to sound like i want them a while ago. that said, i have never replaced the cork and reeds. how often do you guys do this? and who can do it and get it back like they are now? is it something that i can send to RNT's shop?
it's a timbre and short barrell.

I never change reeds, and only change corks in one call. My Olt. But, I have heard that RNTs need this done often for what ever reason. I have heard people say as frequently as every few weeks during season.
If I were you, I'd buy some new cork from RNT and see if that doesn't get what you want back. Or get on ebay, find the rubberized cork, and not use their cork if it needs to be replaced that often.

Correct
You shouldn't have to change reeds unless they are splitting on the end (reeds can last 5-10+ years). When I blew a hunting call with a cork in it I changed it every week or so during hunting season. You can make the cork last longer by taking your calls apart after hunting and occasionally taking the cork out and running it under hot water after ever hunt.
The people that bring me calls to tune that never take their calls apart are the easiest because all they usually need is a fresh cork.
...or you could get a Lares duck call and never have to worry about corks ever again!

What is the problem your having with them? I plan to buy one this summer and liked the one someone let me try last fall.
Curious.

I'll take any and all hand me down Lares. I'll show you how to run them.
As for my Echo's, I'll change the cork once, maybe twice a month. Only because I hunt everyday.
