Obregon, Mexico Trip Report

Postby The Waterfowler » Sun Feb 16, 2014 10:28 am

As expected the Getducks trip to Obregon was a blast in more ways than one. Superior accommodations and pampered clients made for a first rate trip. We were greeted daily with the staff serving fresh Margaritas upon our return from the field along with a buffet of tasty treats before our meals. Non stop hunting with good results were the norm. We have dates blocked off for next year already starting Feb. 2 so come join in on the fun.

There is something about the rumbling of a 502 CID big block that gets the blood pumping for an early morning air boat ride and we weren't disappointed.

Hunting brackish lagoons, fresh water or even the bays off the Sea of Cortez brought a variety of waterfowl into gun range.

Black Brant are my favorite target. Good chances for banded birds here.

Mexican Mallards

Cinnamon Teal.

Ramzillas.

Redheads.

And two species of Quail plus White-wing, Mourning and Collared doves are abundant and that includes the beautiful Elegant Quail.

Of course, it's Mexico. No plug laws.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

Something like a Go Pro but can't remember the name. Pretty good quality though.

Dougie, was a crazy year with all the ice but was a good one. Missed you and Spoonboy.

Brant, especially black Brant are rapidly becoming a top five for me!!
