MSU/LSU

Looks like Ross Mitchell going tonight for the Bulldogs and Nola will be on the mound Saturday for the Tigahs. This is opposite of what I would have thought. Figure LSU will be hungry to redeem themselves after the series in Florida. Hoping the Bulldogs can get one and get home. To get two games in Baton Rouge would be huge, but very unlikely.

Looks like a double header may be in order Saturday. Not sure how they are gonna work that around tv and all the other stuff they got going down here. I like our chances in a double header type situation to pull one out

LSU does not want to play a DH tomorrow because of the spring football game. Game 3 would have to start WELL before the 6:30pm tv slot for tomorrow night. Problem is I've got almost $200 tied up in tickets for the Sun game, which is in limbo.

State is not only going to take two from LSU, I think they sweep LSU. This is quite possibly the worst hitting team LSU has fielded since the early 1980s.

I don't like playing LSU after they've been swept. Don't like the idea not one bit.

There is an article about LSUs hitting woes on the blog "And The Valley Shook" right now. It is a statistical breakdown of their ineptitude at the plate. Here is just one stat among many that tells the story...LSU is statistically more likely to hit into a double play than get a base hit right now. LSU is at the bottom of the SEC in runners on base, yet is #1 in double plays hit into. LSUs best hitter is batting around .200 in SEC play. As a team, LSU is hitting in the low .200s in SEC play...and when they do get on base, it is a near certainty that the next batter will either get out or hit into a double play.

Don't be poking your chest out when you Vegas-ites beat my Tigers this weekend...it ain't something to be proud of this year.

State was doomed from the start last night, on the first play of the game.

This $#!+ is ridiculous! Bad hitting bad pitching bad coaching. State caught a good ass whooped ng this weekend

Well I can say two things for certain after this weekend. I never wanted to play LSU after that sweep and their attendance numbers are INFLATED by a ton.

I agree. I also find it hard to believe that we haven't won a series in eight years against them. I'm really tired of LSU. I bet they would kick our ass in chess.

Well, call me shocked. Is it odd that LSU just swept MSU and I still think that MSU has the better ball club?

If you had told me that State was only going to give up 5 runs in the first two games against LSU without any other info, I would've said State was 2-0 in the series.

I figured LSU would take game 1 with Nola on the mound but the other 2 were a toss up

The only "fix" is we need to hit the baseball! We certainly pitched it and played well enough defense in the first 2 games to find a win. Ross, who normally fields his position very very well let a DP get away from him on mishandling the ball. I have liked Lindgren and hope to see him get some start time. COhen never has forgiven him for the curve ball he threw Katz a year ago.

Time to move Rea down the lineup to like 5th or 6th. Him being an anchor at #3 is killing us.
