Just lost my lease

We were just informed today that we would no longer have the lease that we have had the last 2 seasons. The member who deals with everything decided to just keep it for himself. If anyone knows of anything let me know... Now I am going to go get some blood pressure pills

This aforementioned member is a member of this forum and to you I say that was Bush League.

Dang. I hate to hear that.

Somebody please help this guy find a new duck lease, so I won't have to take him deer hunting every weekend.

No I won't mention names because it is his perogative(sp) as he signs the lease. We were under the assumption that it was ours year to year as long as he didnt loose the lease. Still bush league though...

Sounds like the lease holder just went to the top of the list of "former friends!"

Yeah, you find out who your real friends are when it comes to leases and such. Jealousy and greed tend to surface more when it comes to hunting than anything else in this world. Almost so, that its not worth trying to introduce people into the sport and taking them with you because, in the end, you'll only end up screwing youself...and its sad its come to that these days.

Hate to hear about your loss. I often think of places we used to hunt and why we quit or dont anymore...funny how things change in that regard.

I disagree with the last part of duckmans post about taking folks though...some of the finest hunts I have had the pleasure of being on were with folks I helped get into the sport on places they got us access to. It can work the other way too.

Ill have to agree with you there. I think about spots I've been and will probably never see again. It's interesting the variety of reasons that end access.

As far as the folks screwing each other I think it's the company you keep. Many of those situations seem to have the writing on the wall from the get go. It just seems easy and good at first, so the "details" get over looked.
