Ask DS about best choice for internet communication/deployin

Postby Barq's » Tue Apr 29, 2014 1:29 pm

Alright guys....I'm deploying again for the second year in a row and the Wife wants a tablet or laptop for her birthday (which I will miss)....She loves to read books so I want something that will do that, but also be compact and able to use for Skype.
What would ya'll suggest to buy?

I'm also wanting to know what is the best program for communicating, buying books/movies online at this time? I don't know if cspire will let me keep my phone so do tablets have microphones built-in to them where you could use it on magic jack if I have to go that route?

Thanks for your help in advance.....You guys helped me keep it together last year.....

iPad. regular or the mini
with the kindle app she can buy amazon books
it has a camera / mic in it for facetime (built in) or skype (downloadable app). And there are a dozen more apps just like that.
Movies / tv / music are all purchasable or rent able in the iTunes store.

Big fan of the Surface tablets here. But be sure and get the Surface Pro. More expensive than an iPad but it's a full blown laptop. iPad regular or mini is a good choice also.
