Christianity under attack

Postby fireplug » Fri May 09, 2014 9:53 am

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/05 ... f-his-own/

I read this story and I see many stories everyday along similar lines that are full frontal assaults on Christianity in this country. My question is simply this.....
When is the straw going to break the camel's back? And what will it take to correct the course? I say the only corrective action is violence and I just wonder
how soon the violence is going to start?

Man I hate that our country has come to this, and I know it's wrong of me to think this way, but I just don't see myself loosing sleep when someone snaps
and starts taking some of these type of people and groups out of the gene pool. Groups like GLAD that just caused those two guys to loose their show on HGTV
and the "Freedom From Religion" group that causes all this trouble in the public schools. One day someone is going to snap and start fighting back with violence
and I for one will be glad when they do.

I'm not sure responding with violence would be the christian response...in fact I'm sure that Christians lashing out violently b/c of persecution, particularly when they aren't physically threatened, would be very counter productive to any change our culture needs in it view of tolerance and equal acceptance of Christians and their rights....

I get equally as angry at what we're becoming as you've pointed out, but I'm just pointing out that "Christians" responding with violence would be stupid in terms of Christian belief and expected long term outcome...

holy wars/crusades have happened before against the influx of islam, and history does tend to repeat itself.

People who push the anti-Christian agendas use our Christian passiveness to their full advantage....they know we Christians are taught to be meek, and turn the other cheek, when confronted with a controversial issue, such as prayer in schools, freedom of religion, homosexuality, patriotism, etc.

In our effort to not offend our "brothers" in Christ, we just sit back, pray about it, and hope that God will sort it all out for us.

Then, suddenly, the libtards have achieved their mission, by getting laws passed by the liberal court system, that support their agenda....mission accomplished.

I, too, believe that a house-cleaning is on the near horizon....maybe from us fed-up Christians, or maybe directly from God, Himself....none of us knows that answer, but one thing I DO know for certain, God will eventually reign.

Yes as Christians we should turn the other cheek, but even Jesus had enough when he turned over the money changer's tables in the temple. I'm not saying it's the ideal scenario, but at some point, something is going to break loose, and I don't believe it's possible to do it peacefully. God destroyed many people through his servants in Moses, Joshua, David etc. No reason to believe that he wouldn't do that again through his servants today. Jesus/God taught us to turn the other cheek, but he also gave us a brain to know when there are no more cheeks left to turn.

Sometimes you have to be violent when they finally push you back into a corner. History is more or less one big holy war if you think about it.

I don't think we should turn the other cheek, the father in the article didn't at all turn the other cheek...not what I meant at all...but I don't think we should advocate vigilante violence as a viable response to the issue we are facing b/c we are fed up. Maybe you are right, maybe holy war will come some day...just not sure as Christian rights intersect 1st Amendment rights and how different individuals interpret and intersect one another in our everyday society, that violence is right or going to accomplish anything...Who do you think would be in the news, and for what reasons, had this father in that article marched up to the school and started literally fighting for his sons rights??? As it is, the student rights to the bible were public re-affirmed and a public apology was issued to the Christians...

I think those that we loathe the most are sitting back and pushing and prodding waiting for some fed up southern baptist to go nuts in the name of the Lord (maybe not literally, but something to that extent), at which point there will be no martyr for Christianity, they'll step in and lambaste freedom of religion and religious crazies, then stereotype all Christians and take a step forward in the public eye...That's just my feeling...slippery slope, who knows where we are heading...

We are to obey our government because The Lord put them there, but when our right to worship our God and fulfill the Great Commission is threatened, we are not to sit quietly and allow it. I am prepared to take whatever action is necessary. We know how things are going to end up, for it is written. The biggest issue I've had since giving my life to The Lord is learning to love those who hate us. It's the hardest thing to do.

This story is just one side of it. Yes, the PC pukes are going to try and not offend anyone, and thus offend every one. But we are already seeing backlash on this, even from those who are NOT Christian. For example, KISS front man, Gene Simmons has openly spoken out in support of Tim Tebow; Fox News has spoken out about this same bias and wins every ratings contest available on a constant and regular basis, so apparently Christians aren't just sitting back and doing nothing; and did you hear about DeMarcus Walker's tweet that went viral over the weekend?

Trust me, not everyone is watching Paula Dean and figure skating. But if you listen to NBC and CNN, you'd think that everyone is gay, Putin just needs a group hug, and Americans can't do anything.

WRONG.

Is it any wonder that CNN ceased to be a 'news' agency 20 years ago? Think about it.
