Scenario .."Two girls get in fight at ball park . One hit first the other fought back in defense. The parent of the one that fought back in defense stood there doin nothing but saying kick her ass and is a coach of another team. This is league ball. All this in front of parents and other children. Question should they all be banned from park for rest of season or what would y'all think is best .

usually when you sign up in the agreement it talks about this stuff, or use to. Your whole team could be subject to being kicked out also. That made coaches keep a hand on people back then.
Im one for someome defending theirself. Dont believe its right for someome to take a whopping and not defend theirself. So itll come down to the above I believe. We would fight and usually get a 1-2 game suspension period.

I'm far from a legal guy, but it would appear that the adult involved failed in this situation. She should've stepped in and stopped the fight. I say ban em all.

This was not a team fight...two older girls who were not even playing..the guy was parent/coach for another team who daughter was involved in the fight...we are having meeting tonight to decide on punishment ..my vote is on all 3 for the season..which has already been enforced by the parent of the one that threw first punch...lawd the drama at a girls ball field

It is one thing to defend yourself when you have too but the parent standing back and encouraging the fight instead of breaking it up was out of line.

Here's my take on it, assuming everything is exactly as you described:
> The adult coach gets suspended for remainder of season....no excuse for his actions.
> Girl who threw first punch gets suspended for remainder of season, as well.
> Girl who defended herself did absolutely nothing wrong....no discipline.

I tend to agree with dukluk on this one. Of course, it seems that the parent of the first kid is working to make sure that they ain't gonna have a thug for a youngun' either.

Just be glad they were not adults. Case in point is the guy that got hit and died last week after a basketball game. Video shows the guy swing 3 times at the off duty officer before the officer threw one punch that ended the guys life. He now sits in jail being denied bond. How that wasn't self defense is beyond me but thank god for video. I don't Beleive 12 jurors in hinds county could find him guilty over one punch but stranger things have happened. Lord knows I wouldn't want 12 hinds co jurors deciding my fate.
