Got a call from my wife this morning who was out on a walk around the neighborhood. She said that another resident stopped her to tell her about a guy walking on the backside of the neighborhood with no shirt on and a rifle. I told her I would come pick her up in the truck. I left the house and drove the back side of the subdivision and I spotted him walking into the woods. A white male in his mid 20's with no shirt, ball cap and jeans with an AR15 styled rifle and a pistol grip shotgun strapped to his back. We called the police to have the check him out. It is always better to have one and not need it than to need it and not have it..

Did they find him?

Not that I know of. One of the other residents talked to him and said he was out coyote hunting and had gotten lost. He looked way to "gangsta" to be coyote hunting..

That's What I was Thinking

He "looked" gangsta cause he had no shirt on and an AR and a pistol grip shotgun.. You called the police on the guy for exercising his right to carry a gun just as you were exercising your right to carry a gun.. I understand the need to be cautious and maybe a bit wary but you called the law on the guy for doing nothing wrong (that you know of)

The part I left out in my original post is that another resident talked to the guy before I saw him and the the guy "claimed" to be coyote hunting. Said he had already killed one and missed one. While it is legal to walk around with long guns in open carry,it is not legal to to trespass on private property, nor is it legal to hunt in the city limits with a houses all around.

That is why I called the police. He was illegally trespassing, "supposedly" hunting and discharging firearms in the city limits and his coyote hunting story didn't match up with attire. And when I see him sneaking back off into the woods, that raises all kinds of questions.

If he was just walking around the neighborhood, fine, that is exercising your 2nd amendment right.. But when you are sneaking back into the woods with gun in hand, not holstered or slung over your shoulder that says to me you may be up to no good..

Tresspassing, hunting in city limits...we dont need to be neighbors if youre going to call the cops!

So your ok with hunters trespassing on private property and shooting into a neighborhoods? With mom's walking down the street with kids and strollers and bullets flying past them????

I had to text CWINK to make sure "the shirtless wonder" wasn't toting around my guns...

We have had a history of people coming into the hood and stealing from peoples cars and such so yep... I profile.
