How many will change cable providers to get the SEC Network before football season. I know me personally I don't watch a whole lot of TV except for sports so if direct tv doesn't get it I will probably try and change a week or so into season if it's not obtained

I just can't imagine them not getting it...seems like it would be a huge mistake not to!

From DirecTV website:
"We strongly believe every SEC fan should have access to the SEC Network on DIRECTV and customers can rest assured that is our goal as we continue our discussions with the owners of the channel. Contract talks happen on a different timetable with each TV provider, so unlike our competitors, we have really just begun our discussions and hope to have an update on status as we move closer to the network’s launch in August."

Sounds like bs to me. They have had plenty of time to nail this down.

These providers have a history of making last minute deals. I've been through it before...bout to get sick of it

U-Verse just bought Directv, and since they were the first to jump on the sec network deal, I figure this should be a mute issue. However, my 2 yr contract ends in Aug, so they better get it figured out pretty quick.

what about cable companies such as comcast? any chance they don't carry "the network"?

.........speaking of comcast, what has happened to the CSS channel? it's been blank the last few weeks.

I'm supposed to close on my house next week and have no clue what I'm gonna do. They do not offer Uverse in my area so I guess my only other option is Dish?

I really really hope they figure it out...cause I've been with DirecTV for like 12 years or something and I really like it...

I can't really see how they could not

I wish they would let you pay a subscription, say $20/month, and stream it online. I know they have contracts and such that keep them from doing that but I'd happily pay it.

We don't do cable or dish anymore. Too dang much cost for too much crap we don't watch. $7.99 Hulu works pretty good. Got plenty of friends we can watch sports with if we can't get it online. Don't watch much anyway.

This deal with the SEC Network also kills all university online video and audio provider contracts for ALL live feeds. Everything will only be available on tape delay or replay.
