I have a pontoon, and I use a Chlorox brand product, but it's not full-strength chlorox.....it's got "Cleaner+Bleach" written across the front of the spray bottle....it works great on upholstery and everything else on the pontoon.....never had any problems with it, at all, even after 3 years of using it.
Dollar General always has a big supply of it on the shelf.

My mother in-law use the clean their boat seats every weekend with Tilex (soap and bleach). After a year the vinyl stated cracking. I don't think its a problem if you us a harsh cleaner once every now and then, but not weekly. Once you get it clean, use some vinyl conditioner/protectant to keep mildew from staining again.

Starbrite Mildew Remover and a plastic bristle brush. Then protect with Aerospace 303. Do not use mildew remover in bright sun as it dries before it can dig in and get the mildew loose.
