You know you can get whatever you want anytime you ask. I got a message from Mr. Jeff McKamey up in Chattanooga to see if he received the Book and Call for the auction. He got it this weekend and
said "She's a player". This is only the third 1st edition book with East of the Slash Call offered on ebay or otherwise. Doubt there will be any more with 1st edition East of the Slash Books. Wade is just about out of books.
I got about 5 orders for Persimmon paddle Turpins up in Nashville last Feb. That log you gave me is cut up and ready for them. Trade you some persimmon for whatever call you want my friend. Just holler when you get it up there in Oxford, and Bulldog Mr. E will come by for a visit. I have a bunch of Northeastern callmakers wanting some of this persimmon. They are learning what kind of good sound it puts out.

i haven't read east of the slash. I've got one or two stock market books in front of it, but I'm guessing you'd recommend picking up a copy?

Kris, it is, without a doubt, the best Old School book on Turkey Hunting in Mississippi along the Mississippi River. Great stories written by my hunting partner, Wade S. Wineman Jr., A lot of the stories go back to when the first season opened back up in Mississippi during the 50's when he was a kid. The two best chapters in there are "Turkeys on the Tip" and "He Had a Field Day" --- LOL. Those two turkeys remain the longest bearded bird I every killed, and the heaviest Mississippi bird. Both of those birds I killed with an old orginal Tom Turpin Shor Box (like I make). Talked to Wade yesterday and he is just about out of this first edition. This is one of his remaining signed first editon books. He has not decided whether there will be a second edition as of late.
We did two other, my East of the Slash Stribling call, with his signed book. One about 10 years ago and one 3 years ago on Ebay. This call is just like my old Stribling call. Raspy hen right, and gobbler left.
Put a bid when it comes out on ebay. I will post on here when the auction starts.
Thanks for the question,
Mr. E
