Title says it. My dad and I are taking the boys ages 11 & 9 to NOLA for Saturday then the Saints game on Sunday. My plan is to roll in about noon and go to Cafe Maspero (or a similar restaurant of your recommendation). Then check out the open market. We are potentially going to do the WWII museum as my kids absolutely love that stuff. Dinner should be at _______________.
At some point we will do the Cafe Du Mond and Jackson Square. Gonna stay away from Rue Bourbon. Any thoughts on other things. Not gonna do the aquarium or zoo.
Thanks.

Cafe Du Monde is WAYYYY overrated. Hot, sticky, and stinky and a line for not much.

Everybody has to go at least once.

The WWII museum is a must for boys. In the Warehouse District, which is where the museum is located, there are a lot of pretty cool restaurants and other things to see. I can't remember the name of it, but there is a gallery close to the museum where you can actually watch glass blowers make stuff. That might be pretty cool for them to see.

Do the take out window at the Cafe Du Monde. Eat your Beignets on the benches in Jackson Square.
We like Felix's for supper. Not sure how fancy you want to get.
Try this list:

http://nomenu.com/ has great reviews as well.
You can look for restaurants by the parts of the city on both of these websites.
If you want to make your wife happy, go by Fleurty Girl and grab her a shirt and take her some Pralines from Southern Candy Makers. (The boys will like the pralines too).

I love to go to Mulates......they will have a Cajun band and all the Cajun food you can dream of. Family atmosphere but you can certainly get an adult beverage if you like

If you plan on getting there around noon, take the Manchac exit and stop off at Middendorfs to get a shrimp poboy. I always go the last one on the end, theres actually a couple of them.

Get a fishing guide and take the boys on a half day trip and catch a boat load of speckled trout and reds.

There's only one. They don't open the ones on the north of the main building unless there's a large crowd. The "last" (ie, southernmost building) is always open during their regular hours barring Hurricane damage
