Amazing that these things were endangered not too long ago, and world records, and state records are popping up all over the place.

Our gator management program in MS is producing some huge gators. State records broken each successive year. Looking forward to having some 18 foot, 1500 lb gators soon.

No. Has nothing to do with our gator management program, rather our lack of historic gator harvest (past three decades). We will soon reach a point of diminishing returns. Age produces records and right now we are only seeing the results of what hasn't been done, which may not be a bad thing.

Concur.

That's not to say that strict enforcement of alligator protection in the last few decades hasn't played a big part in the current records; I'd say that's the biggest contributor. And even as hunting continues records will continue to be set, but those gators were born well before hunting began. As hunting continues, and I hope it will, records will become more scarce until they cease altogether.
