Should MSU be ranked

Just wondering since most of my Ole Miss FB fans say we still haven't played anyone. Besides Mullen trying to throw it away at the end of the game the Bulldogs put up a dominating performance.

Based on the number of folks that picked State to go into Baton Rouge and upset LSU, they probably should have been ranked previously. Peewee, I suspect your Ole Miss friends just know what to say to get under your skin, because any truly un-biased observer will say that Ole Miss has done absolutely nothing to justify their ranking either.

Biased ole miss fan here. Yes they should be ranked. Lsu did not look that great but probably more because state looked that good and throttled them. . I think yall have a legit team that if your qb stays healthy is going to have a special season. Now that I have said that I am going to go vomit. Good day.

I think the Dawgs have a good team also. Like you said if DAK gets hurt it goes South in a hurry. That is definatly a possibility with him running but that is also what makes him special.

16th in coaches poll, 14th in the AP.
That's a big jump considering they weren't ranked going into the game. I hope they can build off the momentum. One of their biggest tests IMO comes in two weeks against A&M. The way our defense is built, it doesn't match up well against their offense. Our best defense will be making sustained drives using our running game and keeping them off the field as much as possible. I think them and Alabama will be our biggest tests this season, with AU and OM being tough as well. There is not what I would call a weak team in the West this season.... It should be interesting how it all plays out. We could very well canibilize ourselves in the west with respect to sending a team to the final four, a team is going to have to play unbelievable to come out of this league with only one loss. I think any team in the West could lose twice before it's over with, but we shall see.

Here's a reb fan who thought State was better than several ranked teams. Our only competition so far was Boise and they are not anywhere near SEC level. State performed well and should be proud. I think coaching is your biggest weakness at this stage. Maybe ours, too, for not developing a run game strategy.
The word for both teams now is don't blow it

More talent in Oxford and Starkville than has been seen in many many years. Read this morning that this is first time since 1999 that both are ranked in top 25. As a Reb I'd be first to admit state should have easily been ranked in top 25 even before this win. Rankings are rankings, that's it. Simply build up for bigger games ahead... For us it makes bama game look great... For y'all it makes A&M game look great. I agree with the 2 losses for SEC west teams. When I finally got to watch Rebs n person last week I said probly more talent on field now than we've had in 50 years, does this mean we win west? Absolutely not... May finish last who knows but that just shows how tuff west is. If either state or Rebs were in east I could see a trip to Atlanta. Either way atleast for now I think both have closed the gap in talent with rest of west atleast for this year. Thru rambling. Good win bulldogs, hope we can do the same to bama
