Black Bear In Wayne County

Had some excitement at one of the county elementary schools. A friend watched it walk across their pasture Sunday afternoon.

There was never a threat suspected and no one made contact with the bear.
Yet they lock the school down as though there were a present danger? Some people, sheez.

Why are all agencies working to locate the bear? It's a bear. Any random stray pitbull in the area poses a greater risk to the public.
