Although our focus is now on waterfowl, during the month of October I enjoy the hummingbird migration. This year, bucking a nine year trend, we didnt have a single hummingbird visit our feeders. I wonder if this is any kind of sign for the fall duck flight. Any thoughts?

We had an average hummingbird migration. This year we planted a rather large (4x12) patch of pineapple sage. That stuff grows quick and is crazy beautiful, the birds were going nuts.

What's the limit on them? I love a humming bird tounge sammich. Takes so darn many to make one though!

Hey, I use my binoculars and check for bands while they're at the feeders.

Booger, every spring they band all types of birds, includin hummingbirds at Ft Morgan and Dauphin Island. It amazes me that a hummingbird can cross the gulf. It is also a pretty cool sight being 80 miles offshore fishing and see a flight of bluewings 10' of the surface in mirgration.
