Search for cajun fryer on here. There is a great deal of discussion in some older threads on this topic. Both the cajun fryer and bayou classic version are nice depending on how big you need.

I got a butterball brand a few years ago as a gift. Safe for indoor use, uses a third less oil...good product around $100

Got one but it's only use is for a turkey. For fish frying and other things that require more than one cooking don't try it or you will constantly be waiting on oil to heat back up. I got a Cajun fryer and never looked back. Now fish and fries are hot at the same time when we eat.

Anybody tried this one? Much larger volume than Frydaddy, so that would help with temp drop, but not so much oil (like 4 gal) that it can't be easily drained and cleaned.

Looks nice but it's still electric so it would still take time to get temp correct and keep it there I would think.

Having trouble seeing your point..... electric or gas will still take a little advance notice to get to temp.

My point is it takes the electric fryer around 40 minutes to heat several gallons of oil on my butterball fryer. Let's say you are cooking fish for 6 folks as I did last weekend. Once you put fish in it drops temp quickly. Does good on first batch and good on second batch if you have 20 minutes to kill waiting on grease to get right again. It's not getting to the temp that is a huge problem, although gas gets hot quick on the Cajun fryer I got, it's maintaining the temp for cooking. Wth the gas cooker you can crank up the heat to maintain temp as needed whereas with electric you can't. After cooking with the Cajun fryer I am done with electric. Now my fish and fries are hot when we eat and in half the time.

lilwhitelie although your post is wayyy outside the margins for some reason haha you are correct my man .... have both electric and the bayou classic 4 gallon fryer.... electric fryer has trouble staying hot where the bayou classic maintains the heat really well and if it drops a little you can get it back up to the right temp in a matter of a couple minutes
