You were right about OSU man. I was wrong, I admit it.

Well, all the conditions weren't the same because MSU ended up having one more loss. But I don't think it still would have mattered. OSU got that last game and performed really well. MSU would have been thrown in the loop with Baylor and TCU as the best one-loss teams to technically not play in a championship game.

Well I spoke too harshly to you and I'm sorry.

I agree...everything being same except State beating Ole Miss ...unfortunately I think OSU would have gotten in before SEC got two in and MSU would be sitting at #5.

Which will always be the case in this system...so all the talk of the SEC getting multiples that was thrown around and the West itself getting multiples b/c of strength can be forgotten...FSU and OSU got in because they won and they are conference champions, with everybody knowing they'd be 3 loss teams in SEC...nevertheless they're in...without serious cannibalism in all the major conference in the same year (which won't happen cause they aren't strong enough), no conference will be represented twice in a 4 team playoff...and one conference (the BIG 12 this year) will get spurned just like teams got spurned in BCS...

I could absolutely see how 2 teams from the same conference could make it. All it would take would be a couple of conference champs with terrible non-conference losses under their belt. Then you get another conference that had 2 undefeated teams go head to head to see who would go to their conference championship. Or have a conference championship game where both teams were undefeated prior.

It could (and I believe will) happen, but not most years.

To the Rebs and the Dawgs, win these games and prove to all the dominance of the SEC West!

i believe conference champions and traditional powers will always get extra chips on the table.

Wait a second? Are we breaking down barriers over here?

No argument here. I think the committee made that pretty clear. I just think it's very possible for a scenario to exist where those extra chips still don't match up to some non-conference champion, also from one of the power 5 (and most likely from the SEC).

No, I just acted a fool and and figured I'd better own up to it...it's just football. We probably agree about dang near everything else in the world accept that one thing...same goes for you I'm sure.

I think this post should be the slogan line for the Sports Forum...we all pretty much same except for that part, or we wouldn't be on a duck hunting/outdoors website talking sports.

Way to much rational thinking on this here thread  but all probably true.
