So I remember first learning what a balance bike was on here many months ago. I still haven't really put my hands on one but thinking about getting one for my 2 yo and 4 yo (who is very uncoordinated). However my question becomes we live about a mile from concrete. Our driveway is gravel and we have lots of grass.
Do balance bikes work well on grass and grave or will our kids just get frustrated on those surfaces with a balance bike? Anyone know? TIA
Balance bike?
Re: Balance bike?
We went with the Strider bike and it has worked great in the yard.

I was just gonna say, which goes along with Trip's video, if you're in the yard you need a little slope for it to be fun. Otherwise the child has to push them too much. Much better than training wheels IMO.

Works well in the house if you get one with soft tires that won't scuff the floor. Our 4yo rides his all over the house. It works ok on grass but they have to push more.

I thought those scars from learning how to ride without training wheel were just part of growing up

Oh yeah you can still get a scar and go straight over the handlebars on them. Noah was riding down a steep hill at a dirt pit and got tossed on it lol. He got up, kicked his bike, then picked it up and chunked it. I was so proud.edub20 wrote:I thought those scars from learning how to ride without training wheel were just part of growing up

If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.
