been looking at this optic for a few months now. Trying to figure out what is different about this one compared to the higher end Leupold optics. Was told something about glass vs. something... This optic seems to be a decent 30mm scope. Any info would be appreciated. Don't want to end up buying something where I could have spent a couple dollars more to get something better. Looking to put this on a .308 or .35 whelen.

I have 2 firedot duplex and can't tell the difference between my vx-3's or my tactical LR as far as glass quality goes.

I've read multiple places that the VXRs have VX2 glass, fwiw. You're paying for the illuminated reticle, and maybe the bigger tube, over the cost of the VX2, as I understand it.
Btw, I don't own a VXR. I have been wanting to buy one in 2-7 at some point.

Ok, thanks. I think that's what I heard too or something along those lines. I have not compared the VX-II glass to the VX-III or better. Anyone see much difference?
