Freezing rain snipe

I'm tempted to go grab my shotgun and go stand out in the freezing rain right now and try and walk up some snipe. Never seen this many in one spot before. Must be about 500.

If you don't hear back from me please send a search party because I've probably frozen to death.

Also saw about a thousand mallards/pintail standing in a dry (well.. Muddy) soybean field today.

Oh yeah. I collected these with exactly one box of shells, which I think is pretty darn good!

In that same dry Mallard field, I could see hundreds of snipe just standing around.

Or just just be in the right place at the right time. My little impromptu solo hunt yesterday took about 30 minutes.

I got on some a few years back. Flushed them from a spot of open water in a frozen rice field. Stood in one spot and shot the limit as they kept flying back to that open water.

Probably thought you were lying. They didn't want to be snookered by someone claiming to be "snipe hunting".
