Well, I have been blessed with two in two days. I believe that they are pretty fired up. I hope the coming cold snap does not mess all that up. We sure are having an early Spring this year.

I don't think the cool weather is going to mess em up or I hope not... I'll take cool, calm and clear over warm, rainy and windy any day. Congrats on the success.

Congrats!
Have had one gobble 500 times in the last two days. He gobbled every minute for an hour this an. He was literally choking himself. Coolest thing I've ever experienced. Between the fence yesterday and the creek this morning I just hope tomorrow will be the day. Work has gotten in the way both mornings but it was a pleasure to atleast hear one!
But I'll agree. In certain parts they are on absolute fire!

I should have a pic....roosted him, watched him strut and gobble on the limb....he flew down and landed 35 yds away....shot him....he flopped over...started to get up from the tree...he got up and ran off.
The only part of the hunt that was bad was the ending.......

funny you say that, i shot one in the face last week. the sob flew off as soon as i shot, he flew like 50 yards, tried to light in a tree and fell out the tree, i finally caught up with him and got him. he was bleeding out his head and all, guess he wanted to live pretty bad.

had the same try to happen...flopped a few seconds and stopped...couple of minutes later he came back to life and tried to get up before the follow up shot.
