Just downloaded some "Public Domain" books (i.e. - free books) on my Kindle app to read during travels to a conference. I just started reading "The Wolf Hunters A Tale of Adventure in the Wilderness" by James Oliver Curwood, and I can't put it down!

What are some good books you guys are reading?

I recently finished The Cornbread Mafia by James Higdon and Dead Wake by Eric Larson. The Cornbread Mafia is about Johnny Boone and the largest domestic marijuana bust in history, Dead Wake is about the final crossing of the Lusitania. Both are well written page turners. It shames me to say it but i am currently reading the first book in the Game of Thrones series. I usually don't read much fiction, but this one has my attention.

Ok, I know this is an old topic. But one of my goals this year was to read at least 3 books. Now that I have done that, I have decided to see how many good books I can finish this year. I am on book #4, which is "Colonel Roosevelt" by Edmond Morris. I recently read "A Splendid Savage", and that was an excellent book you guys would enjoy.

What all else are you guys reading?

I recently read "A Grateful American", Gary Senise's autobiography and it was very interesting.

I'm currently about 2/3 thru "The Only Plane In The Sky" and I highly recommend it as the best account of 9/11 that I have ever seen. The author interviewed hundreds of people and had access to thousands of interviews, and then he goes thru September 11, 2001 thru the eyes of various people. The stories and actual eye witness accounts are just horrifying. The section on Jumpers is just unimaginable.

Lest We Never Forget!

Ok. Now I am on book #7. Yeah, I know. Just read "King Solomon's Mines", and the book is actually better than the classic movie staring Stuart Granger. Now I am reading 'The 39 Steps", a WWI spy thriller. And in the 1st chapter a guy gets murdered! Pretty cool beginning.

Y'all got any more suggestions? I am going to place my next order soon. Thanks.
