A couple of years ago, I asked a guy with a bumper sticker like that how much he made and he told me 30 bucks an hour. I remarked that I thought oilfield workers made crazy loot. He told me it was the 70 hours a week that makes the six figure incomes. I just wonder how long a person can last working hard 70 hours a week. Hopefully, they are saving some it.

They aren't...they are driving up lease prices on deer and duck hunting and midwest deer hunt prices with it.

You mean you aren't regularly working 70 hours per week?

I work a 84 hr.(12 hr. days) week for two then take the rest of the month off. Doing it 31 years now. Not burned out and love my time off. Just came back to the ship from 6 weeks off!

I said it in another post about this topic. I worked with Credit Unions in Texas, and noted to them how the entire town of Tyler TX seemed to be full of brand new King Ranch pickups. They said when the oil fields are doing well, they are all over town. When it drops off, their parking lot is full of repo'd King Ranch Fords. They blow every dime they get. We shared a couple drink with some of these typical folks at our hotel and it became abundantly clear that we were dealing with men who were effectively 10 year olds with a pocket full of cash. They acted the same way a normal 12 year old would if they found a $100 bill. Spend it withing 24 hours on something they didn't need.

So what you're saying is the best time and place to find a good deal on a King Ranch is Tyler, TX when oil prices hit rock bottom?
