He should worry with the happenings of Ole Miss, and not trying to make it sound like he isnt a leader by not "taking a stand on the flag issue". He's a football coach, not a politician. What I wish Mullen would have said is something along the lines of:

"WE dont have a problem with flag issues at Mississippi State in Starkvile. No noose and flag on statues within the past few years, no department of justice inquiries on race relations, no Klan rallies on gameday in front of our trademarked admin building, No one yells 'The South will rise again' after Who let the dogs out, or the National Anthem, I've never seen Bully with a mustache and a cane impersonationg a platation owner, no history of confederate flags in our stadium and we dont have talks about banning something "historical" to our university every few years. In fact it's such a non issue at Mississippi State, I dont have a comment".

With the exception of the cowbell of course, but other than that i pretty much agree with you.
