Benelli Vinci - What Is The Deal?

I was out at Vann's recently looking at the used guns. It seems that every time I am there, probably once every other month, there are four or five used Vincis on shelves. You might find one SBE2 if you are lucky every few months, maybe one Beretta, etc. What is the deal? I have not asked but assume people are trading them in on other guns. Do people not like these guns?

I had a member of our club trade his sbe2 for one. After about 2 weeks he was tapping his finger up like we was going to a fight. A month in the season he had a huge lump on his finger where the trigger guard was hitting him. He traded it off as soon as he figured out it wasn't going to stop for a versa max. I was told by the sales guy a for a pretty big retailer that they would not be ordering or carrying anymore of them. When he sold what he had that was it, and he had them marked down about 300 lower than any other place.
I shot it just to see if it was the way he would shouldering his gun and it bit me also. I am going to say that is why you are seeing so many for sale.

I had one and loved how it shouldered and shot but I couldn't get past the finger pain. By the end of the season I had a lump on my middle finger that lasted for weeks. I traded mine after that season.

I've got a sbe 1 and2...They both tear my finger up. The 2 is worse but it's my main gun. I have just gotten used to it. I am looking at a bump and scar right now. The gun fits me good and I shoot it good so I just live with it. I did buy one of those old leather "finger protector bow hunt thing ees" a few years ago, it worked pretty good.

I had problems with the Vinci.....they changed trigger guard on the Super Vinci and Super Sport...no problems since. Worse trigger guard ever was a Beretta White Wing.

as mentioned, the trigger guard sucks. it's a knuckle buster. the forearm is also wider and is a little cumbersome, compared to the sbe2 or the super vinci.
super vinci is a fixed trigger guard, slimmer forearm and 3.5" capabilities. they fixed the flaws with the vinci in this gun.
who want's the predecessor when for the same money you can get a newer version that fits more comfortably and will do what the other won't?
I own a SV and absolutely love it. easy tear down and clean, shoulders me better than sbe2 and performs flawlessly.
that's my 2 cents

I've never had nor heard of an issue with the SBE II trigger guard? I've never had any contact with my knuckles, and have an average size hand I guess. Sucks about the Vinci though, and as for the A5, haven't shot the newer ones but have two friends that absolutely love theirs. Anyway, carry on...

I have a buddy that tore his finger up on the sbe 2 trigger guard. I watched him and he put his whole finger in the guard. I just use the tip of my finger for trigger pull. I think that's the difference.
