Trouble getting a 16 year old a hunting license

I have a friend headed to Mississippi to hunt but his 16 year old is having trouble getting his license. He has a license here in Alabama, but it requires him to hunt with a licensed adult of a certain age. He has done his hunter education online, but my understanding is Alabama requires a "day of field instruction" and he has had trouble getting that done and playing high school sports. Can he get a similar license in MS, or is he out of luck??? They see no option for that on the website.

Maybe Rob can point them in the right direction, if he gets a chance to see this. He's probably out catching Alabama outlaws today.

Research the Mississippi Apprentice License. I think it can purchased once and may apply to this situation.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but from what we have run into before the 16 YO will not be able to get a license in MS as an OOS'r.

Thanks guys....that is how we read it too. It was no big deal, they didn't miss anything in Tunica anyway.

I understand the Apprentice License can only be purchased for Residents and is not available for Non-Residents. Someone please let me know if I am wrong.
