Mahannah WMA

Postby Muddpup » Mon Dec 27, 2004 7:53 pm

Can anyone shed some light on the amount of water on the back side of Mahannah right now? I'm coming over on the 7th of Jan. and need to know whether to bring a boat or a four wheeler? Last I heard... it sounded like we need to build an Arc!

Ther river is falling 6 ft. by the end of this week and the gates are open. If the river keep falling next week, most of the backwater should be gone by Jan. 7.

The water is failing fast.... ice cycles were 2 foot above the water yesterday. I lost a great hole over the last couple days. A acorn flat surronded by Iron wood, and the ducks love acorns....

Heck, let's just ALL show-up at Mahannah this weekend  ......have a party! Then next weekend we can all gather at another WMA. You know......keep the birds moving around so they don't get used to using the same spot for very long.

Just be sure and let everybody know where we're going next weekend so folks can get time-off and make travel arrangements. Man, this will be like the Great Outdoors Festival if we do it right. Anybody got a cotton candy machine? YeeeeeHaw!

Steven and Sydney Shoveler have left the sanctuary and took alot of their buddies with them. Oh they'll be back. The water has gone down some on the west side. The deer hunters from the camp in the back are tryin to use the road but it's still too deep. The few OS are really gettin bumbed out, so are some of the locals!! Never seen it that devoid of ducks is why I'm posting this. In the words of our distinguished Fed Admin/gun smith "Mahnnah is dead". Indeed it is!!! Save your time and energy and try elsewhere, seriously....
