Posted this yesterday over there.....MDWFP....SB said geese "don't prefer" this area. Sometimes you can make'em, huh? Little luck never hurts, he he.
With the Big River's everywhere, like Benny says, things are not gonna get better but I made an observation. Dangerous, huh? Anyway them birds like some small winter green grasses sometimes maybe that's why they might venture away from the River and hit some fields....The eternal optimist!

Friday.....
Last Sunday lotta ducks fog bound. Fog didn't lift till 10am...Same for Mon,Tues? Some coulda kilt Wed, don't know. It rained bad Thur. So Fri. shoulda been it. Wrong. They all left somewhere between Sun and Fri.... Today very few, few teal in sanctuary. What few ducks that are around are very skittish! Maybe tonight's winds will bring some new ones but I doubt it. The west levee is completely flooded again. Kilt one mallard this am and crippled 1 speck,1 blue and managed 1 snow goose. Pup chased the speck, man I wanted him, and then the dude took off! Shesh! Really unusual for gooses to work. Hey I'll take anything I can get at this point! You weekenders gonna need some luck, things haven't changed. Bad news is permissable here, he he....

I hunted there a good bit last week. Not hardly a sole there during the week. Water came up tuesday or so and by now it should be really flooded.

I hunted there this morn not much to talk about . VERY few birds in the front not much on sanctuary. Don't know what was in the back you need to be in there with aboat. There was 55 trucks today. The water is supossed to get to 91 ft. Lee said he hopes the levee does not break. There sre some weak spots that won't be able to hold too much pressure very long . If it breaks he said there would be 3-4 ft of water in the shop. Hope that don't happen. But as for birds not much unless the come in tonight.
