How was the Duck Hunting this year at these locations?

Postby Snake » Sun Jan 16, 2005 9:45 pm

How was the duck hunting in the hills this year? I am trying to see how the duck hunting was in Carroll County, MS. Specific area: Between Hayes Creek and the Big Black River. South of Vaiden-Kilmicheal RD, east of Hwy 35, west of Hwy. 407 and North or Carmack Rd off of Hwy 35.

How was the duck hunting on King's Point Island? I know that the deer hunting was hard due to the high river stage. Should have been good duck hunting on Lake Centennial, Bonnie Lake and the long Slough to the right of the main island road. Give me some feedback. :?: :?: :?: I'm sure you guys had to travel the Long Lake road due the short cut being under water.

How was the duck hunting on the Bayou Piere? Around the Deviney Place and old Valley of the Moon Ranch. (Carlisle Area).

Snake, you haven't heard have you?? This has been a terrible season. There are no ducks this year. In fact, nobody's even hunting the last half of January

Maybe next year if DU will quit feeding corn on refuges in Missouri :x

Details! ......we need some ducks to migrate down here, so we'll have something to 'hunt'. As it is, there aren't as many ducks as there are, people chasing them.

Snake,

I own the land right at the bridge at Carlisle on Bayou Pierre. Havent seen anything besides a good number of wood ducks there even though our lake is holding water for the first time in years. Usually while deer hunting i hear some mallards chuckling as they fly the river, but not this year and no one seems to be hunting down by Valley of the Moon or at least i havent heard any shooting.

Army,

First, I would like to thank you for defending our freedom. I have deer hunted several different spots around the Carlisle area. I have hunted with a group of Dentist that has a section of land that join the Bayou. I also belonged to a camp called High Hill closer to Port Gibson but joined the Bayou, we had a few ducks. I have a good friend that hunted the Deviney Land. Now he use to bust some ducks in that area. I sure miss the hunting in MS.
