I haven't killed one this season. My streak may be in jepordy. I have killed at least one banded duck for the past 8 seasons. My luck may be running out. Ya know, ol Bigwater has been hunting with me quite a bit.

I have killed three this year. The first was a greenhead. It was banded in 2001 in Sask. Canada, hatched in 2000 or earlier.
Second was a female Ross Goose banded in August 2003, killed 12-31-04 and was noted as being too young to fly when banded.
Third was this morning!! A banded greenhead.

Killed a banded Greenhead at the beginning of the year that was banded in Otthon, Saskatchewan in August of 2003.

The woodduck I killed the other day, I am still waiting on the information to be sent to me.

Another mallard was shot by a hunting partner on Monday that was banded not by a federal agency, but by a man in Kentucky.

It has been a number of years since we have gotten any bands and three so far this year already, pretty good in that category.

You don't think it's because you let bigwater hang his booty off the side of the boat and take a dump in your hole do you?

Only band this year so far was given to me by the man who shot it on a hunt in Arkansas when his dog hid under the bench in the blind. The guide told him it was a Mallard hybrid. But, I received the Certeficate the other day in the mail and it says

Species: AM BLACK DUCK
Age Of Bird: HATCHED IN 2001
Location: NEAR THUNDER BAY ON
Bander: OMNR-THUNDERBAY
C/O W D BAKER 435 SOUTH JAMES ST
P7E 6S8 CANADA
Recovery Data:
Location: WEINER AR

I guess it was a Black Duck. I watched them breast this duck out!
The band is not on my lanyard, but, on my dogs collar because I had nothing really to do with this bird other than owning the dog.
