A few friends and I are thinking about going to Argentina for a bird hunting trip. It might not be this summer, but for sure in 06. I was wondering if anyone out there has been there and what outfit you used. Please tell me about the bad ones too!

My daddy operated a couple casinos down there...He said the dove and goose hunting was " out of this world". Take a fishing pole also...Monster brown trout galoure. NOBODY hunts or fishes...considered to be a rich persons hobby, and, there arent many rich people. Beef is a big deal down there also...sopposed to be some of the best. Sorry, I have no personell knowledge of an outfitter...do your homework...Argentina is huge, and, transportation can be somewhat uncomfortable and expensive. Y'all have a nice day!

I have been three times to dove hunt with Trek International Safaris. Price is reasonable, hunting is outstanding and the service is second to none. My trips have been to the Cordoba area. The local outfitter is H&H; but you book them through Trek. Trek has a web site.

Don't even hesitate. Just do it. Argentina has wingshooting at a level that cannot be comprehended until you experience it -ducks, geese, doves and perdiz (partridges). PM for outfitter info if you like.

I have been to Cordoba with Trek. I will never forget it. That is for sure. Pigeons are the most fun, don't do the trip without including the Pigeons. Do the doves for about 2 or 3 days, that will be all that you can handle. It is truly the experience of a lifetime.

What do y'all want to shoot? Doves, pigeons, ducks, geese, perdiz, big game? Any specific species? What's your budget?

I have been to Cordoba with Trek for doves and been to some river, devil something (el diablo something or other), to hunt dove, ducks and perdiz. I would definitely go for a smorgasboard of species, not just dove. While a high volume dove hunt is very fun, perdiz hunting was by far my favorite part of the trip (and shooting over 60 ducks in an hour on mud flats one morning

). We went thru Bob White at Whitefishstudios.com . I would get with Double R 2 first and see if he's booked up for the '06 hunt. I think they involve Magellan geese as well, visit the Getducks.com banner at the top of the page.

DR2 has put together several hunts to Argentina, I would consider contacting him. Or I would contact John at Classic Sports International.
